I love having friends working downtown. Esther, now Jordyn. Obviously, my sister. And I'm hoping the coming year brings a few more friends to the downtown area as well. Monday included an unexpected happy hour - shopping - coffee date (and or course a B&N stop in there someplace)  with this lady. :)

I love the pretty alleys downtown.  This one was especially picturesque, with the fire escapes on the left and the red on the right.

Lunch dates downtown are probably one of my favorite things these days.  Having friends downtown to meet up with, or friends who are willing to trek out here via bus (or worse, park!) to visit over lunch or drinks... it is a much bigger kindness than they may even realize.  It can be a bit stressful (seeing as you have time limits and work is rather unpredictable day to day), but it's wonderful and fun.  And today, it went quite smoothly.  Here's to many more lunch dates with one of my favorite ladies to be in the city with - and who now works within "walking distance."

One reason I love working downtown. :)
After crepes, LBL took kristin and I to La Panier for coffee and treats. I enjoyed a pistachio macaroon and a delicious vanilla latte.

The joys of walking around downtown, in the sunshine, in a sundress with pockets.... So very wonderful.  If you don't know the feeling, I can't explain it... but yes, dresses with pockets really do make the world a better place, at least for the girl wearing the dress.  Dropped my iphone right in there (I just spelt that as "eyephone." weird) and trotted along the moderately clean streets as if they led through gardens and didn't smell like pee. :/  (The one downfall of summertime downtown. The smell.)
