First sips of deliciousness
Sorry if this photo is stepping over that line of obnoxious "let me share every detail of my life."  (You know, the ones who post every time they have a 'great exercise' a cute outfit, or read their bible? One's fine. Maybe even one a day.  Don't turn our livefeeds into your life's daily stage directions.)  But, I am very excited, and since I've been spamming you with my personal journey of coffee-surrender these past weeks, I feel it only proper to share this moment of sheer happiness and celebration with you, my beloved readers.
Turns out, when you've been off coffee for a bit, it can give you quite a caffeine high.   After a couple hours of serious giggles and hyperness at work, I am crashing.   That was interesting.   (2 hours to go. And lots to now do.)

Tomorrow is the start of my vacation -- and the day I get to taste coffee again!!
Getting a little excited, can you tell? On Friday mornings we do a coffee run at our office. I think we are going to run a few blocks further and get Pete's to celebrate!!

Hilarious:

(From Willow Bird Baking)

"Pets make people weird. One day you’re a normal, reasonable adult that people can take seriously. Then you get a pet.
Suddenly you’re schnookie-wookums-ing, buying them furniture that is bigger and more expensive than your own, dressing them up in Santa hats for the annual Christmas card, and giving them their own theme posts on your blog (Caturday is the best day!)"

Sorry guys, I know I said I wouldn't do it (and trust me, I've been sparing you from countless photos of un-Daniel-like-deliciousness! You never realize how many photos on blogs are of these things 'til you can't have them.  It's true, I've realized blogs are full of two things mostly: delicious food, and boys/ cute couples.)  Back to it, I'm going to cook this on October (hold on checking the calendar) yep, 16th!

Hello, Pumpkin-Spice Pull-Apart Bread with that handsome Butter Rum Glaze. :)

Day 9 Without Coffee (or Caffeine)

I keep reminding myself this is obedience. And, it's training. Training in being able to sacrifice what I want for someone else's best. And practice for being pregnant haha! Even pregnant ladies are allowed decaf, right?   ;)   It's not just about training for the 'somedays' but it's also about being who I truly want to be today, right now.  So suddenly this Daniel Fast is a double blessing, for the breakthrough I know it will release in the specifics I am praying about, and also for the opportunity to lay down something small that I love, as obedience to the Lord and out of love for those I'm praying for.  Today, I want to be a woman who lays down her wants for those she loves.

These are the things I remind myself of as I sip my (nearly flavorless) tea.  ;)

P.S.
And Megs, it helps to know you're in this with me too, as in so many other things. : )
Good morning, Wednesday.

LBL is in mediation all day, so I get a chance to catch up. Ryn is meeting me for lunch. And Autumn is finally here. :)

Last night I had a dream.

About coffee.

Yes, in it a good many of us were out to breakfast and I was the last to order.  I sat down to the table to realize nothing I'd ordered was Daniel Fast appropriate.  Then, I looked over and saw Kathy Gilbert and Laurie Unger sipping their coffee.  I was utterly jealous, and confused.  People all around the table were drinking coffee, while on the Daniel Fast, something I thought was fine until a week ago when I saw it on the "not to eat" list. BUT COFFEE IS A BEAN?!! Right?  Last year (almost two years ago?) when I did a prolonged Daniel Fast, I drank coffee, I just wasn't allowed milk or syrups. : /  This is day number three of no coffee or black/green tea.  And day number three of a headache... pretty sure it has to go away soon.  I know plenty probably ARE drinking coffee still.. and to be honest, I might pray about adding it back in too.  So if you are, this is not judgment... just admission to coffee cravings in my dreams.

Don't worry, I've been avoiding posting pictures of delicious food.... and I promise not to continue posting about how much I'd like a coffee. ;)
