UIE at Habitat for Humanity.
I spent the day in Issaquah Highlands. It turned out beautiful!! I organized a company volunteer day for my office, and while I was excited for it, I still thought it would be a long day. It really wasn't. I ended up enjoying time with my manager and a great woman from Habitat, Liz Nixon. It was daunting to consider how little we accomplished, but still nice to know we gave our time to something that won't benefit us... but will serve a family who needs it. It was also nice to get face time with my manager, and in a less stressful situation. She's a wonderful woman, and I enjoy getting to know her. I am so blessed in both of my workplaces to have wonderful managers and coworkers.
Then, my dear friend Elsa met me in Issaquah with running gear and I got to enjoy an unexpected beautiful run and sidewalk chat. It was delightful, and the perfect way to spend a piece of my afternoon today. I've been pressing hard the past couple weeks and I couldn't afford to become unfocused. Now, I have passed off the task I had to do, and today was like a celebration. I did it. I've risked. I've dreamt, and I've done it while awake. I've gained another little piece of courage. Thank you Lord! :)
Life is beautiful. Fact. And the most beautiful expressions, experiences and emotions also take courage. So I am learning.

Just received a new responsibility at work. Believe it or not... I am now a sort of a blog-editor for UIE. Rather fitting for a bloggadict like me.
The only danger: what do I really know about the technology industry? Not much on a deep technical level...not much. But I'll be making broad-scale comments about the big happenings of the industry, and forwarding on articles to try to spark blogs from our executives. I think I will like this a lot... now only if I could get rid of the conference travel responsibilities.... boo.
Anyways, I am hoping in the coming year I will get to focus more on the writing-related aspects of our marketing department. I'm very blessed to have the opportunities I do. Lord, help me increase my talents. :0

Yes, I am in Las Vegas for a big wireless show my company is exhibiting at. I have been tired, very tired. Most everything that could go wrong, has gone wrong...from the hotel insisting they didn't get faxed the credit card forms (which almost meant losing all our hotel rooms on a week it is booked out), the fedex shipment not arriving until today (due Monday), the electricity in our booth not working all day Monday (show opened on Tuesday and our booth needed to be set up), our collateral didn't arrive until the show had been open for an hour and a half...our suites were wrong and we had to pull teeth to get them to give us the ones we actually reserved (we moved rooms 4x on Monday!) And so on....lol. It has been almost laughable.
Despite that, it has all gotten worked out...And I am getting to see a new city. NOT MY FAVORITE, but it's exciting nonetheless. It is certainly a vision at night- so many lights, and incredible fountains....also so dirty (in all the senses of the word). Last night a few of us got to go to a private party (a glorified shmoozing & networking event), which was held on the top floor of the Palms...apparently a current hot spot. The view was incredible! The roof was retractable, and there was also this incredible patio area which I took these pics from. It was 10:30 at night, and rather warm, and completely beautiful.
Tomorrow is the last day of the show, thank goodness. The next one's in san francisco...a city I DO love, I can hardly wait! :)
I will see you all soon. And now...I am going to take a nap.

I have been seeing 777 everywhere!!

First, I buy myself a coffee in the airport- then decide to grab two granola bars for my manager because they are wheat-free (she's allergic). The total: $7.77 That's cool I think, and I take a picture.
I walk back to my manager and we go find a seat to wait for our flight to board. We open her wedding magazine (she's planning her wedding...we had a reason, haha). Looking through these stories and pictures, she says, "That's cool." And points to the spot on the page as she reads "...knew she always wanted to be married on 7/7/07" Huh. I tell kathryn about the coffee total.
Then, I was signing in to purchase internet, and as I opened the list of networks one said something and $7.77!!!

At this point I am thinking "WHAT?! NO WAY!" or as Kim would put it "GET OUT!?"
Yep, then today, I start laughing as I walk by a caboose coffee stand that has in giant gold numbers across the front 777

So---
????
I've got pics of them all that I'll add soon. ;)
love you
