I really like this lady, and this baby girl.

We call her our dad's other daughter. (I think if I don't get married soon, my dad's just going to adopt her and Grant entirely.) And now that one of our sisters, and two of hers have moved across the country, we've sort of formed our own little makeshift triune. Ideally we are all going to spend summer days longboarding and sipping cold beer together, but we've yet to discover a safe idea for how to bring little Finleigh along with us. I suggested strapping her car seat to a longboard and strapping on a rope to one of us... but the tipping factor is problematic. I might have to do some test runs with one of my old dolls in the attic.

So for the time being, it looks more like lots of great talks, coffee dates, dinners, and late night bottles of wine shared. I love this woman, she's played a big part in my life these past 6 years, even with as minimal as our visits have been at times. (Though it still unnerves me a bit how she can read right through me without a word.)
it has been
2 Weeks!!

And I only have four days left without coffee, counting today!

19/25

(MmmHmm. Left work early to get home and finish it!)

Confession:  I can't stop thinking about you.

(From Willow Bird Baking)

"Pets make people weird. One day you’re a normal, reasonable adult that people can take seriously. Then you get a pet.
Suddenly you’re schnookie-wookums-ing, buying them furniture that is bigger and more expensive than your own, dressing them up in Santa hats for the annual Christmas card, and giving them their own theme posts on your blog (Caturday is the best day!)"

Sorry guys, I know I said I wouldn't do it (and trust me, I've been sparing you from countless photos of un-Daniel-like-deliciousness! You never realize how many photos on blogs are of these things 'til you can't have them.  It's true, I've realized blogs are full of two things mostly: delicious food, and boys/ cute couples.)  Back to it, I'm going to cook this on October (hold on checking the calendar) yep, 16th!

Hello, Pumpkin-Spice Pull-Apart Bread with that handsome Butter Rum Glaze. :)

Today, is a PERFECT fall day. :)

I try to keep these sorts of photos to a minimum these days... but this one was just too sweet not to post. One day, this will be my idea of a perfect afternoon. :)
Curious. Very curious. Late October? I think so.
agreed.

I like the girl who scribbled this in her moleskine one night...

It's a good note for those of you who have commented on Shakespeare's language as being awkward, odd, hard to get into, or boring.  He's actually changed the world, specifically the English language, through his writing.  We owe him for the very phrases we rely on to express our experiences and feelings.  He's a master.

Go read the story of this journal, and the author's goal for her year 20.  She's reading a book a week for a year!  And she's posted the list, it's no small means.  I'm aiming for 25 and I already feel I have a feast of literature to devour before New Years!

One week from today
I'm off to Tennessee and the Keiths!!

I was having lunch with my friend Ryn earlier this week and we began discussing her summer plans, which include a 6 week trip around Europe.  A dream.  I know there are those of you who say, stop waiting and just travel, and the others who say it's worth the wait.... that said, I am open to some travels while still single, but my definite dream would be to take two months and backpack around Europe with my husband, whoever he be.  I know having that much time to travel is becoming less and less likely, but we're just talking about dreams here, so leave me be.  I've been told by friends in England and Switzerland I could stay with them, and Ryn assured me I could probably stay with her friend in Ireland too.  Hmm, who knows.  All I know is I'd love to travel Europe, and I'd love especially to do so with my best friend (especially one who I could feel especially safe with).  ;)

And I don't know why I included this picture, he just looked like a guy who'd be willing to backpack Europe, and so sparked the thought.  (He's handsome too.)

Happy Friday!

Someday... I will visit Ireland.

Someday soon perhaps.

I don't even know if these really are Ireland...I just decide that every picture of rolling green, rainy hills with cobblestone fences and cute old cottages must be of Ireland.  :)
