Interesting. One of my guy friends just commented that when guys hear girls talking too much about their "dream guy" it can turn them away and quench interest. Oh it's odd how different we are, because I'm thinking now: when girls hear guys talk about the lack of a "dream girl" in their mind or a very shallow description of one that measures up to height, eye color and hair... it tends to make them lose interest just as fast. But describe what qualities you'd like in her, real things, quirky things, sincere, attainable things... and you'll have us wishing we were just that girl. I guess on second thought, maybe that's not too different. Not only does the dream-girl/guy supermodel description make the opposite gender feel "yeah right, not me, never mind" it also makes them find the speaker a lot less attractive... in at least the cases others have been honest enough to share with me. I am sure there are those who disagree.
