Yay for long weekends! Even if they do leave us wanting to sleep in on Tuesday morning!

Friday I spent with Morgan and Adam, two of my favorite strategic dreamers.
Saturday, I started out with a hike with half my law firm and Brado (he was stuck, thanks to his recent blog post).

The world's shortest nap, a violin lesson, and then I was off to Elise & Jeff's! I spent the evening playing with my favorite little dolly and two of my best friends. Sleep over, breakfast and off to church with them in the morning.

Another nap (I like naps- can you tell? Ideal schedule? Up late, Up early, nap! mm!)

I'd agreed to watch the munchkins for a few hours, which through a series of nonchalant texts turned into watch the munchkins, and their neighbors, for 4 hours. 5 kids, 9 and under? Awesome! The parents did their best to make it easy, they bought pizzas and rented a 3 hour movie for the boys and a movie for the girls. Guess how many of the 5 finished their movies? ONE! Oh no, we played flyers up, capture the flag, made mud pies (that of course ended up all over the boys), pea soup, fed imaginery rabbits (just Lizzie Lou and I of course- I always love playing in the imaginary world of the youngest child! I wonder why? ;) Honestly, they were all pretty good. But you know you should be warry when the parents' parting words are "Pour yourself a glass of wine, you may need it." Knowing that wine would cost the the opposite affect of what I'd need, I finished my triple espresso, and saved the wine sipping 'til the parents returned. Then, they cracked open a few bottles and we sat around eating dark chocolate and wine tasting. I like these people. :)

Monday, I was the first out of bed, in order to call dibs on the porch swing. I made coffee and read Much Ado About Nothing all alone, to the sounds of the Walkers' craziness next door. :)

Then Kristin and I decided to longboard to the Redhook Brewery in Woodinville. Besides the sunburns we eventually got, this was one of our best ideas in a while! The Burke Gilman in Woodinville is mostly all direct sunlight. We returned from that excursion and read on blankets at a park where there was live music and picnicers all over.

Spent the evening BBQing and bonfiring with my family and couple of my favorite friends, eventually watching the fireworks from our backyard. This was the first 4th of July I've ever spent at my own house, and I liked it quite a lot.

Hope you all had a wonderfully happy 4th of July, enjoying friends and family and laughing with those you love.
