P.S. Kim, this is what I picture where your TV is. I tell you, it's genius. (Or, it could go in the corner of your dining room behind - or in place of - the bit of wall by the front door, assuming that doesn't compromise the support.)

Those people do not love thier shoes. They do not treat them well.
We figured out where to put the stairs!! :-) Jason's friend Danny is a contractor and he said the best place for them would be where the current coat closet is. I'll miss having a coat closet, but it's a great idea for a place for them. Our living room is just too tiny to take any more space out of it. Also, the stairs will take up part of the laundry room, but we plan to move the laundry room upstairs and get rid of the wall between the bathroom & the laundry room so its a bit bigger :-) Oh and add shelves and cabinets where the washer & dryer currently is and under the new stairs ;-)
